Art & Mental Health: Emotions in Color
(Grades 3 & Up)
Art is one of the most effective tools for creating a safe space for individuals. This workshop teaches how color can encourage students to self-reflect and communicate their feelings. By creating a color wheel and identifying how color can represent emotions, students will learn about color theory, understand better how to pinpoint their emotions and communicate them to others.

Leonardo DaVinci, the Renaissance genius, transformed the arts and sciences. In this gallery exhibition, learn about all his innovative discoveries and masterful artworks through a guided gallery exhibition tour and interactive STEAM activity. Each student will take flight with their creativity and create their invention design!

From Kenya to Kentucky!
(Grades 3 & Up)
In collaboration with the Department of Art at the University of Kentucky, ten artists from Kenya have traveled to Kentucky. Each artist donated one piece, now known as The Contemporary Kenyan Art Collection. Learn about contemporary Kenyan artists and culture through a guided exhibition tour, interactive painting activity, and group discussions.

The Bias Inside Us: The Science & History of Bias
(Grades 3 & Up)
The Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) proves this exhibition to be a community engagement initiative to raise awareness about the science and history of bias, how to counter it, increase empathy, and inspire inclusivity. This exhibition includes an interactive art activity, group discussion, and skills on how to combat bias in your community.

The Gateway Regional Arts Center offers a variety of artistic & educational workshops for you and your family, friends, or classroom! Explore GRAC through pre-arranged tours and workshops that reflect current gallery exhibitions, museum collections, and upcoming events!
Transportation costs can not be covered at this time
Make a Reservation:
For large group tours and school field trips, you must submit a request for a workshop at least 3 weeks in advance.
Reservation dates and times must be confirmed with a GRAC staff member.
Tours are available Monday-Friday, 9am-8pm year-round.
Workshops last one hour unless specified otherwise.
Any cancellations must be made by email no less than one week before your scheduled event.
