The GCYC is a youth choral program for 3rd through 6th graders. Students will learn multiple techniques of choral music in weekly rehearsals and perform in a small Winter concert, and a larger Spring concert.

This is the theme of the program this year and the inspiration for their music. Students will learn music styles from all over the world and how they influenced Appalachian music and vice versa. Five different guests artists who specialize in different styles of music will come work with the students and teach them more about their culture.

Nothing. This is completely FREE for participants thanks to a generous grant from Chorus America

• Student must be in 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th grade

• Student should be able to attend rehearsal every Tuesday evening (full schedule below)

• Student MUST be available for the following dates: September 24th, November 5th, December 10th, February 4th, March 4th, April 1st, and May 20th

• Student's do not need prior experience, just a commitment to learning and an appreciation for music
