About: Hailing from the vibrant tapestry of India, Manish emerges as a masterful artist whose chosen medium of expression is the captivating watercolor. His artistic odyssey commenced in the earliest chapters of his life, where chalk drawings with companions kindled the flames of his creative spirit. Gazing in awe at his friend's deft strokes, Manish's aspirations took root, envisioning a future adorned with the title of an artist. In the tapestry of his youth, Manish painted his world with whatever tools fate provided. Amidst the confines of childhood, he wielded creativity with fervor, often displaying his nascent talents to friends and kin, leaving them enchanted by his artistic prowess. Yet, the echoes of societal norms resounded, steering Manish towards the path of an engineer—an expected trajectory in a quintessentially Indian family. Amidst the corridors of academia, he found solace in engineering drawing classes, the canvas of technical diagrams becoming his refuge. In those silent hours, Manish's nimble hand etched intricate portraits that not only captured visages but also bound him with the threads of friendship. As the sun dipped beneath the horizons of practicality, Manish's heart yearned for the hues of creativity he had once cherished. Urban landscapes and sprawling cityscapes became his muse, his watercolors breathing life into intricate skylines and architectural wonders. With every brushstroke, he wove narratives that transcended the two-dimensional realm, inviting viewers to step into the stories he painted. But watercolors merely scratch the surface of Manish's artistic repertoire. Ink sketches flow from his pen, capturing fleeting moments in their raw vitality. A proud member of the PLEIN AIR ARTISTS OF CENTRAL KENTUCKY, he finds solace in capturing the essence of the world en plein air.

Artist Statement: As an artist, I strive to paint my life’s experiences on paper. The beautiful interplay of light and shadows on buildings, houses, roads inspire me. The transparent and serendipitous nature of watercolor allows me to express my feelings with spontaneity. I take lot of pictures on my phone while travelling and use them as a subject. My painting style is loose, and I use rough textured paper for my paintings. In my opinion, colorful and interesting shapes of shadows are the most beautiful part of my paintings. I plan most of the parts with sketches before painting, but it is a beautiful experience to let watercolor paint itself once left on paper. Every painting session is a meditation and it helps me to connect with myself
