We can all be kind and well-intentioned humans. At the same time, we can all be biased…
Bias lives inside all of us. It feeds our natural need to belong and feel safe. But when bias is left unchecked, it can grow into beliefs and behaviors that can become harmful.
As we learn to recognize our bias we can disrupt and change how we behave. We can change the way we truly understand ourselves and see one another.
OPEN FOR IN-PERSON VIEWING MARCH 1-15
The Smithsonian Institution is committed to leading and encouraging civil dialogue on important issues facing our nation. The Bias Inside Us is a community engagement project and exhibition. Our goal is to help people understand and counter their implicit biases and build capacity in communities through resources to convene dialogue that will increase empathy and create more inclusive schools, workplaces, and communities.
